Letter From Membership Vice President
Dear Potential New Members,
Our campus has a lot to offer for the next generation of inventors, leaders, and everything in between. It’s something that holds true to the values of us as students entering the real world. As you imagine the rest of your stay at Mason, I challenge you to do one thing—realize your potential.
As sisters of Alpha Xi Delta, we have shaped our values of knowledge, leadership, sisterhood, and service around the fundamental idea of “inspiring women to realize their potential”. These things hold true to everything we’ve established at the Iota Alpha Chapter. The absolute passion our sisters have for Autism Speaks, the drive to take on leadership, and the endless laughs are irreplaceable.
Alpha Xi Delta is one of the things that makes George Mason so special. I look back on my time here thinking I could’ve gone anywhere in the world—and I chose Alpha Xi. Without the constant support of my sisters, I may not have overcome my insecurities. Without my big, I wouldn’t have the perfect role model of a woman to admire. Without my little, I wouldn’t cherish what it means to be selfless, responsible, and understanding. Without a leap of faith, a chance of luck, I wouldn’t be writing this letter to you all.
The one thing I wish for you all is that you find a place, a group of people, that challenge you to become someone you were always meant to be. I can’t imagine what my life would be like without my sisters. It’s a privilege and an honor to be a part of something bigger than yourself—and I hope you find that in Alpha Xi Delta.
With Love,
Jenny Cardwell
Membership Vice President
